Puppy Preschool

Run on Saturday mornings here at the clinic by Annette, one of our nurses who

is also a certified dog trainer & IMDT member.

For puppies 8-16 weeks of age, puppy preschool is about building confidence, safe socialisation and strengthening the bond between puppy and owner. It's a really important stage in a puppy's life where new experiences need to be positive so they can learn that the world around them is safe. Puppies have a crucial socialisation window that's between the age of 4 weeks and 14 weeks of age. It's important to take advantage of this period and expose your puppy to different sights, sounds, smells, animals and people.

Socialisation isn't just about your puppy and/or dog playing with other dogs and puppies, it's about exposure to everything in our human world that we'd like them to be comfortable with and confidence building for those situations.

** The next block of classes will starting on Saturday 14th December **

The classes are taught using positive reinforcement and fear free techniques.

If you've got a puppy or are soon to get one, contact Annette at altk9training@gmail.com, on Facebook ALT K9 Training or give the clinic a call.
