Here are some of the services we provide...

There are a range of services that we provide as a country veterinary clinic. If there is something that may not be listed below please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

Sterilisation

Deciding whether or not to have your pet desexed is a big decision, and from our point of view a very significant surgical procedure that requires a high level of care and skill. For most pets that live a healthy and event free life, desexing will be the most significant procedure they will have.

Sterilisation is the best way to stop unwanted pregnancies, dogs from roaming looking for a mate and the animal suffering from testicular cancer or a condition called pyometra, where the uterus becomes infected.

It also reduces the likelihood of your pet getting other forms of cancer.

The surgery is a day procedure so they get admitted into the hospital in the morning and they will then be discharged after 3pm that afternoon.

We recommend sterilisation from 6 months of age for both cats & dogs, however sometimes with the larger breed dogs we recommend to wait until 12 months of age to allow for their delayed growth. If you're unsure about when to sterilise your pet, contact us and chat to one of the friendly nurses who can help.

We also perform sterilisation procedures for rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and the occasional sheep or goat.

Prices range between each species, and are also dependent on their weight. Please contact us for

more information.

Vaccinations & General Health Check ups

We provide a full consultation with annual vaccinations, which we call a general health check. If your pet has been happy and healthy throughout the year, their vaccination appointment is a perfect time to give them a complete check up.

Annual health checks present the best opportunity to discuss health concerns and sometimes the vet may pick up something that the owner may not have noticed.

We offer initial vaccinations and health checks for puppy and kitten litters, as well as microchipping. For pups, the initial vaccine is given at 6 weeks and for kittens it's 8 weeks.

We also have vaccines available for rabbits so can provide an annual health check and vaccine regime for your long eared friends.

There are a few different vaccination coverage options available for each species so call the clinic today and we can discuss the options with you.

Dental Checkups and Dental Procedures

There are times throughout your pet's life where you may notice some bad breath, or them not eating as well as they used to, or even pawing at the mouth. These are some basic indicators of dental disease. By booking a consult with the veterinarian , they can go through some preventative measures to help combat this disease. The vet can also give you an indication of the degree of the disease and if necessary perform a dental procedure (which is a day procedure under a general anaesthetic) at the clinic to give your pet a fresh start.

Senior Health Checks

As our pets age we may start to notice differences in their general wellbeing and daily habits. We always recommend getting any pet over the age of 7 years of age into the clinic for regular checkups. Senior health checks allow us to discuss some of the health issues that older dogs and cats face and together we can compile a treatment plan with you to help your pet enjoy their retirement years.

Day Procedures

We can perform a number of surgeries or procedures that are what we call 'day procedures'. These are things that can be done in a day, where the pet is admitted to the hospital in the morning but then able to go home that same afternoon. Things like ear cleans, soft tissue surgery (removing a lump or suturing a wound), xrays and specialised grooming (for animals that require sedation).

Hospital Care

There are times when your pet may become unwell and need further attention and investigation as to the cause of them being unwell. We have a fully equipped hospital to assist our patients including; a treatment room, recovery/hospitalisation room, kennel area and laboratory facilities. We have the ability to run bloods tests here at the clinic so we can get a better understanding of what might be happening with your pet.

Occasionally your pet may need to stay overnight in hospital so they can continue to receive IV fluids and medications.

We may only be a small hospital but we take pride in caring for our patients with the highest standard of care. If you have any queries or would like to know any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
